The Edexcel Level 4/5 HNC/D in Manufacturing Engineering (Polymers) provides a specialist work-related programme of study that covers the key knowledge, understanding and practical skills required in the polymer manufacturing sector and also offers particular specialist emphasis through the choice of specialist units. Edexcel Level 4/5 HNC/D provide a nationally recognised qualification (HNC 120 credits / HND 240 credits) offering career progression and professional development for those already in employment and opportunities to progress on to an honours degree programme. This qualification is delivered at Peterborough Regional College and can be studied full-time or part-time.  Successful completion of this course allows progression on to the new BEng (Hons) Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (subject to validation).

It should be noted that the Qualifications Credit framework (QCF) will be discontinued in December 2017. It will be replaced by the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). The new course outline will be available in the 2018/19 prospectus. As such the course detail above is accurate for entry in September 2017. It should be noted that we will not have a January entry point for January 2018.

Entry Requirements

  • A BTEC Level 3 National Certificate or Diploma in an engineering discipline or Access to HE qualification
  • 2 A-levels in Maths and a Science subject
  • Plus GCSE Grade C or above in English, Maths and Science.
