Performing Arts Inspiration Day

Wednesday 23rd January 2019, 9.30am to 4.00pm
at The Key Theatre, Embankment Road, Peterborough PE1 1EF

This free Performing Arts higher education event is offered by the Take Your Place / NEACO project which helps young people across East Anglia to make informed choices about their academic futures.  It is ideal for all year 12 or 13 students who aspire to progress onto a Performing Arts degree.

The day will be led by experienced lecturers from the University Centre Peterborough who also run the BA (Hons) Performing Arts degree.

By attending you will take part in four workshops which include:

  • Aspirational workshop
  • Intermediality workshop: How does theatre, sound, projection, lighting and spoken word work together?
  • Clown and making mistakes; A fun workshop looking at Clowning, being silly, how to feel comfortable making mistakes - and how this could make a good PhD
  • Hold conversations with Dr Kate Marsh
  • Watch the fun performance of 'To Go or not To go' workshop (with some Clown in it - and a game show)

You will be able to:

  • gain a greater understanding of the elements involved with theatrical performance
  • interact with specialists in the PA field
  • be able to use the experience on your personal statement for your UCAS application or CV
  • have an opportunity to put your skills into practice with expert feedback
