Update for current UCP students about Coronavirus / Covid 19

May 7

The safety of our higher education students, staff and their families is of our utmost priority and therefore while the campus is closed to students, both our support and academic staff will be working remotely and can still be contacted by email. Please use these links if you are a UCP degree student and if you are a Higher National student.

During this time, we will aim to respond to you within 48 hours during working days from Monday to Friday.

For all enquiries relating to your course you should contact your Course Leader in the first instance. To email Course Leaders, please use their normal email ending @peterborough.ac.uk and use your CANVAS pages to interact. Staff will endeavour to be online during your stated timetable sessions.

Students are advised to check their student emails, this webpage, CANVAS and social media (www.facebook.com/ucpeterborough or www.twitter.com/ucpeterborough) for updates until normal service is resumed. Our Linkedin page will have details of employability, job opportunities and online training etc.

In light of the government announcement that schools will be closed UCP will update current students and applicants with developments that relate to you as soon as we know. For official information regarding higher education please visit www.officeforstudents.org.uk/coronavirus.

Our plan is to move to a fully online learning model where practically possible, with the following arrangements in place:

                  • We will cease all face-to-face teaching from end of play today (Tuesday 17th March 2020) at both University Centre Peterborough and Peterborough Regional College
                  • Pending government guidance, we are planning to open as usual for staff and students (as long as they are not in an at-risk category) tomorrow (Wednesday 18th March 2020) and use the day to work with learners and prepare them to move to online learning
                  • On Thursday and Friday we will be open as usual for staff only so that everyone can focus on their own (and their team’s) preparations for next week when we move to a fully online learning model and working from home. This will give you time to organise IT equipment, upload documents to Google Documents and collect together other materials and learning resources

                  16th March 2020

University Centre Peterborough and Peterborough Regional College continue to monitor the situation regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19) and, as a matter of routine, we are following the daily updates provided by the Government’s Department of Health and Social Care and Public Health England: www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public

Whilst we have no known cases at University Centre Peterborough or Peterborough Regional College – the risk to individuals in the UK has been raised to HIGH.

Please see link below to a further letter to students with details of additional actions we are taking. If you require further information please contact the Wellbeing Centre on 01733 762237.
