Inspire Education Group Stands United Against Racism with ‘Wear Red Day’

16 October 2026

Staff and students across Inspire Education Group joined together to wear red in support of Wear Red Day, the national initiative led by the anti-racism educational charity Show Racism the Red Card.

Taking place during Black History Month, the event offers a powerful symbol of unity, solidarity and inclusion across the IEG’s campuses. As a recognised College of Sanctuary and a signatory of the Anti-Racism Charter, Inspire Education Group is taking a firm, visible stance to ensure every member of its community feels valued, respected and supported.

Katherine Levy, Group EDI Coordinator at Inspire Education Group, emphasised the importance of the day: “Allyship and representation are at the heart of our commitment to the UNISON Anti-Racism Charter, and we strive to put anti-racist practice into action every single day. To mark Black History Month and this year’s theme of ‘Honouring Our Communities’, we wanted to take an active stance that truly reflects our values as a College of Sanctuary and zero-tolerance approach to discrimination. Wearing red today to ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ is a simple, visible way for our whole community to stand together, live out our value of respect, and honour the diverse communities we are so proud to serve.”

Inspire Education Group’s participation in Wear Red Day is part of their priority to create an inclusive environment through ongoing anti-racism education, community partnerships and active engagement with national inclusion charters.
