Our state-of-the-art Media and Journalism Centre in the heart of the city allows great opportunity for our creative degree students to get hands-on with industry-standard equipment in professional studio spaces.
A hub of creativity
Students are also welcome to bring guests into the building, whether that be an interviewee for a podcast, or a group of actors for a TV show. The studios can also be used for special performances and events.
A range of students from across UCP use the studios and specialist equipment, including Media Production, Journalism, Digital Arts and Computing, making it a hub of creativity for all!
TV & Radio Studio
The Media and Journalism Centre may look small on the outside, but inside we have a large TV Studio and Gallery, featuring a three-camera set-up, Blackmagic camera, auto-cue for presenting, fully functioning TV Gallery and a floor to ceiling green screen.
Our three professional radio studios can be used for all types of audio production, including podcast creation. Each studio is soundproof and includes a mixing desk for the presenter / producer, editing software and microphones for up to four guests.
Equipment for hire
All of our equipment is available for students to hire for free, allowing them to hire professional cameras, microphones, tripods etc. to go out and shoot/record on location and in their spare time. We have an online booking system to make it easy for students to hire equipment in advance, as well as book studio space for upcoming projects.
