How to Transfer to University Centre Peterborough
Thinking about changing universities or continuing your degree somewhere new? Whether you’ve completed part of your studies elsewhere or want to move closer to home, transferring to University Centre Peterborough (UCP) could be the ideal next step.
What Does Transferring Mean?
Transferring universities means taking the academic credits you’ve already earned at one institution and using them to continue your degree at another. At UCP, we welcome students who want to transfer their degree, allowing you to build on the progress you’ve already made without starting again.
Each transfer application is assessed individually to make sure your previous study aligns perfectly with your chosen UCP course. Depending on your completed credits and course content, you may be able to join at Year 2 or Year 3 level.
How the Transfer Process Works
Transferring to UCP is straightforward, but it’s also personalised to every student. Here’s how the process works from start to finish:
1. Explore your course options: Visit our website to find a degree that matches your current subject and future goals. You can only transfer into courses that we currently offer at UCP.
2. Get in touch with Admissions: Contact our friendly Admissions Team to discuss your current studies and check if your credits may be transferable.
3. Let Us Know the Modules You’ve Already Completed: Provide us with information about the modules you’ve completed and the grades you’ve achieved so far.
4. Ensuring the Best Fit For You: We know not all courses are like for like so every transfer to UCP is personally mapped by our academic team to ensure your previous learning outcomes match your new course.
5. Programme confirmation: Once the mapping is complete, we’ll send you details of the UCP course and how your previous study fits within it. This allows you to make an informed decision before accepting your place.
6. Receive your offer: If your transfer is approved, you’ll receive a formal offer confirming your entry point (Year 2 or Year 3). Some students may need to complete their current academic year before transferring to start with us in September.
Throughout this process, our Admissions Team will support you every step of the way to make transferring as clear and stress-free as possible.
