Empowering the Future: Inspire Education Group Celebrates National Apprenticeship Week 2026

9 February 2026

Inspire Education Group (IEG), comprising Stamford College, Peterborough College, and University Centre Peterborough, is proud to mark National Apprenticeship Week 2026 (9th – 13th February 2026).

As the current ‘Training Provider of the Year’ (Peterborough Telegraph Apprenticeship Awards 2025), IEG remains dedicated to bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry experience. This year’s theme, ‘Skills for Life’, defines our commitment to creating sustainable career pathways that benefit both ambitious individuals and forward-thinking employers.

81.7% of apprentices who completed their programmes progressed into full-time employment, demonstrating the strong and lasting career outcomes apprenticeships deliver.

Having completed a Level 3 Mechanical Apprenticeship with Baker Perkins, Gary has since progressed to a full-time role as Section Leader, a testament to the leadership opportunities this pathway creates. Reflecting on his training, Gary highlights, “I’ve really enjoyed the hands-on experience and the chance to explore different levels within the subject. The course has given me the opportunity to learn a wide variety of skills through performing engineering operations, which gave me the knowledge to progress straight into a full-time role after completing the course.”

Scarlett Ball, a Level 3 Heating and Plumbing apprentice at Stamford College, reached the final 10 in the Screwfix Trade Apprentice Awards, standing out among apprentices across the UK. “It’s been great to apply the practical and theoretical knowledge I’ve learnt to my apprenticeship with SJ Murphy Plumbing,” Scarlett shared. She encourages others to follow the apprenticeship route, adding, “If you’re considering starting an apprenticeship then just go for it! I’ve received so much support from both the College and my employer and I’ve learnt skills for life.”

Apprenticeships are no longer seen as just a training option; they are a strategic business advantage that streamlines recruitment processes through designated Apprenticeship Recruitment Officers. IEG collaborates with over 1,000 apprentices, partnering with industry leaders like Baker Perkins, Allison Homes, Anglian Water, and Codem Composites.

Why hire an apprentice?

Close the Skills Gap: We co-design our programmes alongside our Employer Advisory Boards, ensuring our curriculum directly responds to specific sector demands and shifting industry trends.

Develop Future Leaders: By integrating apprentices into your team, you foster a pipeline of talent who understand your company culture from day one and often progress into vital leadership roles.

Business Growth: Our apprenticeships cultivate a culture of loyalty and high-level technical proficiency, ensuring your business remains competitive and equipped to meet tomorrow’s challenges.

This week, we celebrate the achievements of our partners and students who drive the region’s economic growth. Throughout National Apprenticeship Week, we will be sharing success stories and exclusive resources across our social media channels to help you take the next step in your professional journey.
