What Are the 2025/26 Changes to Tuition Fees and Maintenance Loans at University Centre Peterborough?

11 February 2025

The upcoming academic year brings important updates for students at University Centre Peterborough. The government has adjusted tuition fees and maintenance loans in line with inflation.

What Maintenance Loan Changes Have Been Announced?

The government is increasing maintenance loans by 3.1% to help students cope with rising living costs. This means students from lower-income families could receive extra support:

  • Living at home: An increase of £267, raising the maximum to £8,877 per year
  • Living away (outside London): An increase of £317, raising the maximum to £10,544 per year

These changes are designed to ensure that financial support keeps pace with inflation.

How Will Tuition Fees Be Adjusted at University Centre Peterborough?

Although the government has raised the maximum tuition fee to £9,535, University Centre Peterborough does not charge the full amount. However, to maintain high educational standards and robust student support, some fees will be adjusted in line with inflation for both new and continuing students from the 2025/26 academic year.

Will My Student Loan Repayments Be Affected?

No, your monthly student loan repayments will remain the same. Repayments are calculated based on your income rather than the total amount borrowed so there will be no unexpected changes in your monthly payments.

How Much Are Fees and Loans Increasing?

Both tuition fees and maintenance loans are being adjusted in line with inflation. In summary:

Maintenance loan increases:

  • Living at home: +£267 (new max: £8,877 per year)
  • Living away (outside London): +£317 (new max: £10,544 per year)

Tuition fees: Some fees will be adjusted to continue delivering quality education and support, even though UCP does not charge the maximum fee.

Do Continuing Students Need to Update Their Student Finance Details?

No action is needed from continuing students. University Centre Peterborough will automatically update the tuition fee amounts in the Student Finance system. Just apply as normal, and the correct fee will be applied.
