Position yourself for an exciting venture into the realm of business marketing. Our support system encompasses a professional network consisting of academic staff, industry leaders, the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). This framework ensures that you are well-prepared to kickstart your marketing career after graduation, whether you envision a role within a marketing department or with a marketing agency. Throughout your journey, you will acquire specialised knowledge in business and marketing, complemented by a solid foundation in contemporary business issues, including aspects like globalisation, digital communications, and the proliferation of social media. Your grasp of business concepts will be showcased through hands-on experiences, including projects and placements. This will ensure that your profile as a creative, customer-centric, and commercially-minded graduate possessing a diverse skill set is highly valued by employers.
The first year of the course provides you with a grounding in a variety of business disciplines, which underpin later learning. In year two you begin to specialise in marketing with the module Integrated Marketing Communications. In the final year, the marketing speciality is completed by studying Marketing in the Digital Age, Public Relations and a 30 credit Major Project on a marketing topic of the student’s choice. Teaching staff have strong professional profiles, and our close partnerships with local businesses allow us to draw on their expertise and resources for both input and assessment.
