Who is it for?

The Foundation Degree in Business Management is designed to furnish you with essential skills, knowledge, and a comprehensive understanding of business, positioning you for employment or progression to the Business Management degree at UCP. The program provides a well-rounded education in general business with a focus on personal professional development, employability, and entrepreneurship. This broadens your knowledge of business management as your initial foray into the business world. Moreover, the program enhances both your academic and employability skills while concurrently honing key competencies sought by employers or necessary for running a small business.

The course is designed for students to develop as versatile learners. The first year of the course provides students with a grounding in a variety of business disciplines, which underpin later learning. In year two students have a choice of optional modules, providing the opportunity to tailor their course with specialist knowledge. Teaching staff have strong professional profiles, and our close partnerships with local businesses allow us to draw on their expertise and resources for both input and assessment. This foundation degree provides a variety of business skills required for the workplace. We have consulted with prospective employers on the content and design of this course to ensure that the skills students learn are industry-standard.

As the foremost professional organisation for management, Chartered Management Institute (CMI) is dedicated to developing successful managers and leaders, our collaboration with CMI (https://www.managers.org.uk/about-cmi/) enables you to acquire an additional professional qualification in tandem with your degree. Those enrolled in our BA (Hons) Business Management program have the opportunity to receive a CMI Level 5 Award in Management and Leadership upon completing their degree. Upon enrolment in the degree course, you automatically become CMI members, gaining access to a variety of benefits, resources, and events designed to bolster your professional development. The tuition fees for full-time undergraduate students will be £8,250 per year, which is lower compared with many other universities. Fees for part-time study are pro-rata depending on the number of credits you are studying (i.e. 90 credits per year will be 75% of the tuition fee). There may be additional costs for this course which are not covered by the tuition fee.
