Spalding High School Attends Discovery Day Hosted by Alumni at University Centre Peterborough
University Centre Peterborough recently welcomed 160 students from Spalding High School for a bespoke Discovery Day event. The students were greeted by Spalding High School alumni, including Kate Knight (Group Manager for Marketing and Communications); Sam Mackey (Curriculum Leader for Early Years and Education), who is pursuing a PhD in Education; Molly Thorpe, a UCP graduate currently studying for a Master’s degree at Cardiff University; and one of the university’s Forensic lecturers, Rosemary S, who is a former police investigator.

One of the standout activities of the day took place in our dedicated Crime Scene Bungalow, where students were challenged to solve a crime. This hands-on experience provided a unique and engaging way for the students to apply critical thinking, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
The Discovery Day provided the students with an immersive experience, allowing them to sample a day in the life of a university student. This event aimed to inspire and inform the students about local higher education opportunities and what to expect in their academic future.
