UCP Creative Showcase Highlights Next Generation of Digital and Cinematic Talent
University Centre Peterborough has wrapped its 2026 Creative Showcase, celebrating the work of graduating students in Digital Arts and the future of Filmmaking.
The two-day event brought together industry professionals, art lovers and prospective students to see the city’s emerging creative talent firsthand.
The event opened with the Digital Art Exhibition Launch. The gallery featured a mix of graphic design, animation and digital storytelling, giving students the chance to discuss their portfolios and career goals directly with visiting industry scouts.

The showcase concluded with the Peterborough Student Film Festival, held in partnership with the Gateway Film Festival. The sold-out screening featured a wide range of student films from dramas to experimental shorts.
“We get involved with UCP every year because they’re wonderful to work with. They have such an amazing selection of students creating top-tier work, and I really enjoy coming in to celebrate those successes with them.” – Emily Steel-Dias, Gateway Film Festival
The festival was joined by guest judge Aman Dhillon from ReelN. With a background in talent development for major platforms, including BAFTA and the BFI, Dhillon’s involvement provided students with professional feedback rooted in international industry standards. This partnership with the Gateway Film Festival provided a practical platform for students to take their work from the classroom to the big screen.
“It is my first time visiting University Centre Peterborough, and I was blown away by the high calibre of work; it made the judging process incredibly difficult. The atmosphere was brilliant, and it was wonderful to see the students supporting one another. It is a privilege to encourage these future filmmakers as they develop their skills, and I look forward to seeing them and their work, on the big screen in the future.” – Aman Dhillon

- Most Creative – Abigale Pudney for her film Difident
