Celebrating the Class of 2026: University Centre Peterborough Graduates Take Center Stage at Peterborough Cathedral

11 September 2026

University Centre Peterborough, part of Inspire Education Group, proudly celebrated the remarkable achievements of its graduating students at its annual graduation ceremony, held once again in historic Peterborough Cathedral.

The ceremony marked a defining milestone for these dedicated individuals, whose hard work, perseverance, and commitment over recent years have prepared them to step into their chosen industries as skilled, confident professionals. Many of the graduates are local to Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, and the surrounding regions, highlighting UCP’s ongoing mission to nurture home-grown talent that directly strengthens the local workforce.

Highlighting the significance of this milestone, James Whybrow, Vice Principal of Apprenticeships and Higher Education at Inspire Education Group and University Centre Peterborough, said: “Celebrating the Class of 2026 under the arches of Peterborough Cathedral is a powerful reminder of what higher education is all about: unlocking human potential and transforming lives. Our graduates have shown remarkable dedication, achieving high grades across our higher education programmes and expanding their horizons. As they take their next steps, they carry forward the skills, innovation, and confidence needed to drive our regional workforce. Congratulations to all our graduates; we are immensely proud of your achievements and look forward to seeing where your journey takes you next.

The event started with the traditional procession, inspiring speeches, and the awarding of degrees. Graduates took to the stage one by one to receive their awards, supported by applause from proud families, friends, and academic staff.

Reflecting on the success of the day and the achievements of the graduating cohort, Alex Owens, Chief Financial Officer of Inspire Education Group, said: “ Getting here was a test of pure grit. For many, it meant balancing studies alongside jobs, raising children, and dealing with life’s unexpected curveballs. You dug deep, found a reserve of strength you might not have known you possessed, and earned this award through your own sweat and determination.”

After the ceremony, graduates and their guests celebrated across the city with exclusive menus, special offers, and complimentary toasts from our 2026 Graduation Celebration Partners. A huge thank you to Côte Brasserie, The Chalkboard, Wildwood, Bijou, and Tipsy Cow for making the day so memorable for our graduates.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026!
